Bob Cohn, Chairman

As the co-founder of Octel Communications Corporation, Bob Cohn has helped define and lead the voice messaging industry for over 20 years. At Octel he was the Chairman and CEO of the company from its inception in 1982 until Octel was purchased by Lucent Technologies in 1997. He then served as an Executive Vice President of Lucent Technologies, Inc. and retired April 30, 1999. At the time of Cohn's retirement, Octel was the worldwide leader in its field with revenues of $1.3 billion annually and over 150 million active users on its systems. Prior to founding Octel, Cohn held positions with McKinsey & Company, an international management consulting firm, and Banque Rothschild in France. Cohn holds a BS degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of Florida and an MBA from Stanford University. Most recently, Cohn was a partner with Sequoia Capital, a high-tech venture capital firm in Silicon Valley, for 2 years (2002-2004). Currently he is an independent investor and advisor to growing companies.

Alex Mendez

Prior to co-founding Storm Ventures in October 2000, Alex spent twenty years in high tech at ROLM, IBM, Stratacom, and Cisco, holding several executive positions, most recently as an SVP/GM at Cisco. He was part of the founding team of Stratacom which Cisco acquired in 1996. He was also CEO and Chairman of Sanera Systems which McData acquired in 2003. Alex was elected to the McData Board of Directors in December 2003. He also serves on the board of 3 Leaf Networks, Bivio Networks, Mobio Networks, Moonstorm Inc., and Venturi Wireless. Alex holds a B.S.E.E. from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University. He likes to ski, travel, golf, and speaks both Spanish and German fluently.

Doug Carlisle

Doug Carlisle is Managing Director of Menlo Ventures, one of the early investors in Octel Communications Corporation. At Menlo Ventures for more than twenty years, he now focuses primarily on early-stage technology companies. In addition to Adomo, his current board seats include: A4Vision, Appshop, ePac, Expand Beyond, FutureTrade Technologies, GoDigital Networks, IntelliDOT Corporation, IronPort Sytems, LiveOps, nLight Photonics, Open Solutions and ProfitLine. His prior investments and board seats include: Carrier Access Corporation, Cyras Systems, acquired by CIENA Corp; Efficient Networks; Hotmail, acquired by Microsoft; Kalpana, acquired by Cisco; and Pyxis. Prior to Menlo Ventures, Carlisle worked as a design engineer at ROLM Corporation. Carlisle is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (B.S. in Electrical Engineering), Stanford University Graduate School of Business (M.B.A.) and Stanford University Law School (J.D.).

John Arrillaga, Jr.

John is a founder of Arrillaga Capital Management LLC, and is a seasoned investor in real estate and both public and private companies. John is a graduate from Stanford University and also received his MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
